Small waist, wider hips? You already know the drill. Trousers that go over your hips gape at the waist. Trousers that fit the waist won’t get past your thighs. So you pick which bit to put up with — or you give up and ride in men’s kit.
The Exile has three independent adjustment points at the waist: a quick-release ratchet buckle plus two velcro straps. Size for your hips and thighs, then pull the waist in to fit. No belt, no gaping at the back, no button digging in when you’re crouched over the bars.
We surveyed over 100 riders to understand what they want, what they don’t want and what they’d change about their current riding trousers. Then we headed to the drawing board and the Exile MTB Trousers were born.

Product Features
3-Point Waist Adjustment
A quick-release ratchet buckle and two velcro straps, adjusted independently. This is the bit that solves the waist-to-hip problem — buy the size that fits the widest part of you and dial the waist in from there. It also means the fit still works over a base layer in winter, or on the days your body isn’t behaving like it did last week.
Room For Knee Pads
Properly cut so pads sit underneath without the leg going skin-tight over the top. No wrestling them on in the car park.
Comfort Meets Durability
We wanted a pair of trousers that not only stood the test of the trails, but also gave supreme comfort when on long rides. Our Nylon-fabric provides the perfect blend of durability and comfort - we weren't willing to compromise.
Water-Resistant Fabric
You can’t really have MTB trousers that just soak up water on the trails. Thanks to the complex Nylon fabric, the Exile trousers offer excellent water repellency to help keep you warm and dry in the wet. We recommend reproofing them after several washes with a re-proofing wash like Nikwax Tech Wash to boost the repellency. Due to the material used, when water breaks through the trousers will remain lightweight and comfortable.
Size Chart
The size chart serves as a general reference, but body shapes vary. If you’re between sizes, size to your hips and thighs and bring the waist in with the straps — that’s what they’re there for. The 4-way stretch is forgiving and the adjustable waist gives a serious amount of room to play with.
Washing Instructions
Super easy. Low heat (20 degrees works just fine), low spin, leave to air dry. Job done. Avoid fabric conditioner or detergents with heavy oils as these can impact the water repellency of the trousers.

If you’re not happy with the trousers or want to switch sizes, just drop us an email at returns@blacklineclothing.co.uk. We’ll deduct a flat fee of £3.50 to cover the shipping, fire you over a return code and you’re good to go.

First, the customer service from these guys is incredible! They sent out a second pair for free as I wasn’t sure of sizes and then returned the pair I didn’t want - all super easy and great communication throughout.
Second, the fit on the women’s trousers is fantastic for a 5’10, curvy woman. I love the waist adjustment and the length is perfect. Material also feels nice and the pockets are big enough to fit my phone.

Really happy with these MTB trousers! The material is super breathable, which made a huge difference on warmer rides, and the stretch is excellent – no restrictions at all when moving around on the bike.
My only small note was the length (a bit too long for me), but once folded up, they actually look really good. The folded cuff gives them a clean, tailored finish that works surprisingly well.
Overall, great purchase for comfort and style. Already looking to buy in more colours
