BlackLine Clothing - Exile MTB Trousers

We surveyed over 100 riders to understand what they want, what they don’t want and what they’d change about their current riding trousers. We then headed to the drawing board and the Exile MTB Trousers were born.

No more buttons bursting open. No more single point of adjustment at the waist. No more trousers so tight that your pads are waving to trails. With 3 adjustment points at the waist, no buttons and finally enough room to rock pads comfortably, these trousers have ticked every single box we wanted and we can’t wait for you to ride in them.

Product Features

Ratchet Buckle

No more burstin' buttons. The Exile trousers are fastened with a quick-release ratchet system.

x2 Adjustable Straps

Sometimes we have doughnuts, sometimes we don't. The Exile trousers come with 2 adjustable, velcro straps on the waist to give you complete flexibility on the fit, no matter what you had for breakfast.

Comfort Meets Durability

We wanted a pair of trousers that not only stood the test of the trails, but also gave supreme comfort when on long rides. Our Nylon-fabric provides the perfect blend of durability and comfort - we weren't willing to compromise.

Water-Resistant Fabric

You can’t really have MTB trousers that just soak up water on the trails. Thanks to the complex Nylon fabric, the Exile trousers offer excellent water repellency to help keep you warm and dry in the wet. We recommend reproofing them after several washes with a re-proofing wash like Nikwax Tech Wash to boost the repellency. Due to the material used, when water breaks through the trousers will remain lightweight and comfortable.

Size Chart

The size chart serves as a general reference, but body shapes vary. It's best to try on a pair to find your specific fit. If you’re between sizes, we’d always recommend sizing down. The 4-way stretch is super forgiving, combined with the adjustable waist gives an incredible amount of leg room to play with.

Washing Instructions

Super easy. Low heat (20 degrees works just fine), low spin, leave to air dry. Job done. We recommend using a re-proofing detergent such as Nikwax after several washes to boost the trousers water repellency.

Returns Policy

If you’re not happy with the trousers or want to switch sizes, just drop us an email at returns@blacklineclothing.co.uk. We’ll deduct a flat fee of £3.50 to cover the shipping fee, fire you over a return code and you’re good to go.

Exile MTB trousers: frequently asked questions

Are the Exile MTB trousers waterproof?

They are water-resistant rather than fully waterproof. We wanted the Exiles to be usable 365 days a year, not just in winter. They handle spray, light rain and wet trails well, while remaining breathable and lightweight. Reproofing after repeated washing helps maintain the water-resistant finish.

Can I wear knee pads underneath them?

Yes. The riding cut is designed to leave room around the knee for mountain-bike pads without making the lower leg excessively baggy.

What size should I choose?

Choose your normal waist size. The fabric has plenty of stretch and the waist has three adjustment points, so riders between sizes will usually get the best fit by sizing down.

What type of riding are they designed for?

They are built as versatile men's MTB trousers for trail riding, enduro, downhill sessions and bike parks. The stretch fabric also keeps them comfortable during pedalling and longer days on the bike.

How should I wash the Exile trousers?

Wash at 20°C on a low-spin cycle and air dry. Occasional reproofing will help restore the water-resistant finish after repeated washes.
